Don’t wait until you hit rock bottom

If you are currently feeling blessed and grateful for all you have in this world, I want to implore you to keep on chasing your dreams – don’t wait until you hit rock bottom before you wake up to these realities:

  • Life is not certain
  • Your financial wealth can disappear
  • Quality relationships require time and energy investments
  • Your health is important
  • Time is your most precious commodity – invest it wisely

I hit rock bottom twice!

When my wife started divorcing me the FIRST time, I was a broken man! I hit rock bottom emotionally and it took me a LONG TIME to recover from that. Sometimes I wonder if I ever healed completely!

We reconciled for two years and I thought life could only get better – and then she left me a second time! Let me tell you: that is when I realised how much time, effort and money I wasted trying to please other people! I was down and out FOR THE COUNT!

Fortunately I have amazing friends and family…and a daughter who I love dearly! These people, combined with my faith in God and His promises kept me going through some very tough financial and emotional times!

The people who really care

This brings me to the point where I want to encourage you: don’t wait until you hit rock bottom before you start taking care of yourself as well! Your dreams are important! You have value to offer the world! The people that matter will be there for you when you make a mistake.

“Those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind”

Bernard Baruch, American financier and statesman
don't wait until you hit rock bottom; change the people around you;

If you don’t have people in your life who really cares about you, then change the people you hang out with. Focus on building quality relationships with the people that will support you and guide you through difficult and uncertain times. AGAIN – don’t wait until you hot rock bottom.

What you learn when you do hit rock bottom

The first thing you learn when you hit rock bottom is that you should’ve seen this coming.

The second thing is that you should not have waited so long to do something about it.

The third thing you realise when you hit rock bottom is that the only out of it, is to stand up and start climbing!

BE GRATEFUL OF WHAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFE. TAKE CARE OF IT AND PROTECT IT! Us the successes of the past to build new and better successes going forward!
